Each year Missouri's statewide preservation organization Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation honors projects throughout Missouri in ceremonies in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Jefferson City. This year Washington's own Farmer's Market will be honored on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at ceremonies that begin at 11:30 am. The event is free and open to the public.

Preservation Group Puts Out SOS to 'Save Old South Point School!'

You might never know it to look at it, but the dilapidated old clapboard structure that stands just behind the old Riechers gas station along Old Highway 100 has real historic value. From the late 1800s up until 1952, it was South Point School. . . . full story
